New single-family home sales have increased slightly with the decrease in Condo sales in Myrtle Beach.

QUICK STATS- Third quarter 2006 compared with third quarter 2005:

 
Sales:
• Condos down 31 percent to 5,003
• Single-family homes up 1 percent to 4,506

Listings:
• Condos up 112 percent to 10,493
• Single-family homes up 60 percent to 5,291

Days on Market:
• Condos up to 186 from 89
• Single-family homes up to 143 from 104
 
However, there are many new single-family home developments at this time that builders have started using incentives to lure buyers to their development. As the builders continue with these competitive incentives smaller local contractors have banded together to start some incentives of their own. Through Countrywide Home Loans, buyers can get 4.75 percent in several of the local builders' neighborhoods, including Sommerset Cove at The Gates, Tiger Grand, Bucksville Oaks and Southborough.
